Legal & HR Advisor

Joao is a Legal and HR Advisor in our Madeira office, responsible for providing expert advice and support on both legal and human resources matters. He manages compliance issues, ensuring the company adheres to all relevant laws and regulations, and oversees legal matters relating to Fairway's operations.

Joao drafts and reviews contracts, develops and implements company policies, and handles employee relations, recruitment, and performance management processes. He works closely with various departments to identify and mitigate legal risks, promoting a culture of compliance and ethical behaviour throughout the company.

Joao's background as a qualified lawyer, combined with his MBA in Human Resources, equips him with a unique perspective to navigate complex legal issues. He is committed to supporting Fairway’s goals, ensuring legal risks are minimised and HR practices are optimised.

In addition to his academic qualifications, including a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Law, a Postgraduate diploma, and an MBA in Human Resources Management, Joao has been a registered member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2014.

He also holds a Certificate of Professional Competence (CCP) and has experience in teaching and training, which has enhanced his ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
