Jersey Hospice is Fairway Group's charity of choice for 2015

16 Jan 2015

Jersey Hospice, a charity which  provides specialist palliative care, free of charge, to Islanders with life-limiting conditions, has been chosen by the staff from Fairway Group and Bracken Rothwell, our connected chartered accountancy firm, as our chosen charity for 2015.

The team dress down every Friday and make donations to our cause. The collection is currently supporting staff member, Heulwyn Rothwell, who completed a cycle trip to Tanzania in October 2015.

The charity has been hosting trek and cycle challenges every two years since 2001 in  a bid to raise funds and the Tanzania challenge is the eighth of its kind. They are the charity’s second biggest fundraisers with more than £1 million raised so far from participants’ efforts.

Previous trips have seen participants visit destinations such as Mexico, Peru, Vietnam, Ecuador, South Africa and China.

It’s hoped this year’s Challenge will raise £90,000 for the charity.

An end of year tally of money raised by staff came in at £1,612.42
