Well done to Team Jersey all round great results coming 3rd overall in the Island Games.
It was fabulous to see the men and female win Team Gold for the triathlon, superb efforts from Dan Hawksford and Jo Garrod both winning their fields.
Fairway were delighted to see our sponsored athlete Ollie Turner who came in 2nd for the Jersey men followed by Demri Mitchel securing the team gold. Mel Messervy crossed the line in 3rd place winning an individual bronze and Katie Silva secured team gold for the ladies.
As the Island Games reserve, I made a late decision to stay behind as there was little chance of racing, this was a tough call but worth it as I spent the weekend enjoying sports day and with our eldest as he turned 13!
It also meant I could spend some time focusing on my run which I felt was disappointing at Deva. The sea has been beautiful and I have had the pleasure of joining the Gleave group which began in aid of the Oscar MacLean Foundation in 2015 thanks to Jason this is still going strong;

Kate Hughes (above), her mum, Ella & Poppy her daughters haves three generation entry to this years triathlon! They are raising money for Diabetes Jersey if you can support them they would be touched.
I have also managed to spend some time with boy no 3 as he is getting more involved with the triathlons, here we are together after our own triathlon (and ice cream);

The main Jersey triathlon event is on Sunday 9th July, unfortunately for many of us our TT bike's have not returned from Gotland. Thanks to Fintan Kennedy for the wheels and Richard Tanguy for putting them on my tricycle!!
Hopefully Sunday will bring out the best in us all as we hope to achieve at Fairway Group, with some focus, discipline and hard graft we should all reach our goals!!
